Overview

This course provides an in-depth overview of the latest advances in endometrial cancer, highlighting the rising incidence and mortality rates of this common gynecologic malignancy. It addresses the challenges in diagnostics, particularly the limitations of traditional classification methods and the importance of molecular classification to improve treatment strategies. The role of targeted therapies is emphasized and new developments in hormone receptor targeting, and novel mutations are discussed. The course also underscores the rapidly evolving clinical environment and the need for ongoing research to enhance patient outcomes, preparing clinicians for future advancements in the field.

Target Audience

This CME initiative was designed for oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, NPs, PAs, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of patients with cancer.

Dr. Allison Grubbs is currently an assistant professor of gynecologic oncology at RUSH MD Anderson cancer center in Chicago. She is fortunate to have completed all of her medical training within the Chicagoland area and is a proud graduate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and the Northwestern University OBGYN residency and Gynecologic Oncology fellowship. 

In addition to her clinical interests, she has significant academic interests in bioethics, specifically in how physician communication can influence the intensity of care at the end of life. She also serves on the ACOG and SGO bioethics committees.
