Fertility at Risk—Can We Preserve Hope?
2026 APPOS Seattle Networking CE Dinner
Join us for this two hour networking dinner program to earn CE credits and learn the latest clinical and practical strategies to improve care for your oncology patients and communication within your healthcare team.
Overview
Several studies have shown the loss of fertility following cancer treatment can be more stressful than the cancer diagnosis itself. This program reviews the updated fertility preservation guidelines and the special considerations both at time of diagnosis and for cancer survivors. Participants will gain a practical understanding of the logistics, time frame, and success rates associated with fertility preservation cycles. Through the use of patient case examples, attendees will explore the need for multidisciplinary care/referrals and individualized decision-making for cancer patients and survivors.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the psychological impact of impaired fertility among patients with cancer and cancer survivors
- Discuss updated ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) fertility preservation guidelines for patients with cancer
- Identify the logistics, time frame, and success rates of fertility preservation cycles
- Review the infertility evaluation and treatment options for cancer survivors using patient case examples
Target Audience
This activity is intended for NPs, PAs, pharmacists, and nurses. Students, physicians, and other healthcare professionals involved in oncology patient management are also welcome to attend.
