Fertility Preservation Options Prior to Chemotherapy in Female Patients

Overview

This educational session is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of fertility preservation strategies for female patients facing chemotherapy. Learners will gain insights into the mechanisms by which chemotherapy can damage ovarian function and explore a range of evidence-based fertility preservation techniques. Participants will also learn how to identify suitable candidates for each fertility preservation option and discuss the practical considerations involved in their implementation.  

Target Audience

This CME initiative was designed for oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, NPs, PAs, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of patients with cancer.

Marissa is a 3rd  year Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility fellow at OHSU. Marissa is a Portland native and attended medical school at OHSU. She then left and completed her OB/GYN residency at Northwestern in Chicago, and she was thrilled to return to OHSU for her fellowship. She has a particular interest in access to care and fertility preservation. She is excited to remain in Portland after she completes fellowship at the end of this academic year.
